Xu Xia Mei (徐夏妹), a.k.a. traditional mother and designer. She became interested in sewing and mending clothes using materials around her as a little girl.
After elementary school, she went to Northern Taiwan to learn how to make clothes. Then in 1986, Ms. Xu began designing dresses, and in 2006 she won the Trendy Aboriginal Costume Award.
However, she never forgot her root and moved back to Hualien County. Her tribal designs can be seen and purchased at the Lishen PangCah WorkShop(里信工作坊) there.
